Are you ready to take your movie to the next level? Here are a few simple tips to get you started. These are the things I've learned from books, online resources and my own experience make short films. Enjoy ...
1. it is the story, Stupid .... film is the story to tell. You should be a good script. You must have a story you tell about passoniate. When there is a budget, chances are you don't blow up buildings or long hunt scenes to entertain your viewers have.Focus on the script. get a tight, interesting script on paper before you shoot.
2. the use of the equipment that you have ... or rent-not buy it. Is the only camera a $ 300 Handcam? So what. Use. Even the cheapest consumer MiniDV camcorder can be good results when you use a tripod and your light well. Don't feel like you want to buy a brand new HDV-cam, a new boom mic or Final Cut Pro.Shoot with the equipment you would itself. teach your equipment and more importantly, learn the craft of filmmaking. Trust me, there will be many more things you side-by-side with your equipment.
3. Plan, plans, and then some more of plan. After the script you need to prepare on a shot list. This is a break of each shot within each scene. List of the location, actors, props, kind of shot (Close Up, worldwide, on average), camera movements, and so on.The shot list you can add your day to play. as the first and the last scenes of the film take place in the same location with the same players allow you to shoot them back to back. This means that your camera and lighting setups which is of vital importance. In addition to the shot list you will need to scout locations, collect your equipment (cables, bulbs, batteries), pick up actors, pa and food.
4. get tons of coverage. You have never enough. you never enough is enough, enough shots. Shot again. Even if you think you get that, you probably don't. If you cannot take up your day well planned (see # 3) then you have plenty of time to many of the coverage.
5. treat Everyone with respect.Actors, be interesting people. They are probably working on your movie for free. to treat them with respect and kindness. you are the Director not the dictator.Get the opinions, but the final decisions itself.Your staff is of vital importance.Finding a good crew and easy to treat.
And our bonus tip ...
6. keep making movies. make tons shorts. you learn something every time. try different things and continue to grow. you will never stop learning and you'll never stop with pleasure.
